The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based radio navigation system developed and operated by the U.S. Department of Defense. GPS permits land, sea, and airborne users to determine their position, velocity and time, 24 hours a day, in all weather, anywhere in the world. The GPS signals are available to an unlimited number of users simultaneously.
Each GPS satellite transmits signals to equipment on the ground. GPS receivers passively receive satellite signals; they do not transmit. GPS receivers require an unobstructed view of the sky, so they are used only outdoors and they might perform less well within forested areas or near tall buildings.
Our TomTom LINK and GO products have a GPS receiver to determine the exact position of your vehicle.
