Using the CAN bus input, your TomTom LINK will be able to use the following three signals:

Speed
-
Odometer/distance

Fuel consumption per trip
In order to connect the TomTom LINK unit to the CAN bus signal you will have to use an FMS interface between them. The FMS interface is only available for trucks. These interfaces are vehicle specific and must be ordered by you. You will need to contact your car dealer or your installer company in order to obtain the specific FMS interface compatible with your vehicle.
When provided with fuel consumption, TomTom WEBFLEET can generate reports on the fuel consumption per trip. When provided with the speed and odometer data, the TomTom WEBFLEET reporting function will generate very accurate reports as it is receiving direct information from the vehicle systems. Without CAN bus input, TomTom WEBFLEET will calculate the speed, distance and odometer values based on the GPS position readings.
